Introduction

Welcome to the Mam Bow 2 "mini" tutorial. Mam Bow 2 is a game that was released in 2007 for the MSX computer & recently we released a 3 level version for Android. If you haven't downloaded and you have an Android device you can download it from Google Play or Amazon.com:

In this tutorial I'll show you how to re-create part of level 1 of Mam Bow 2. This tutorial will cover:

  • Project set up in Eclipse
  • Camera/Viewport/Game Screen set up so that screen will stretch appropriately to fit the screen of devices with different dimensions.
  • Camera usage to handle scroll: continuesly horizontal & occasional vertical scrolls
  • Using Tiled to create a Tile Map & collision Map
  • Player/Map collision detection
  • Keyboard Input Handling to take care of player movement

For whom is this Tutorial / Prerequisites

This follow this tutorial series you need little to no knowledge about LibGDX. Basic knowledge of Java is recommended.
I will (re)structure the tutorial content, sidebar, etc. as I go along so any comment/recommendations would be appreciated.
